Konner has written over twenty-five feature films including Mona Lisa Smile, The Legend of Billie Jean, Jewel of the Nile, Flicka, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Planet of the Apes and Star Trek VI, The Undiscovered Country.
His writing for television, spanning over 40 years, includes: The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Family, Little House on the Prairie, Remington Steele, Cagney & Lacey and Magic City.
For me, it’s never an unalloyed pleasure. If the movie is any good – and sometimes, even when it isn’t – my desire to have been part of the making of it overwhelms any possibility of simply enjoying the thing.
I wanted to be part of the show, not part of the audience.
